A Bangalore-based agritech startup aims to create a circular economy by converting urban food waste into organic fertilizer. Faced with the challenges of inconsistent waste composition and high labor costs, they turned to us for a flexible, automated solution.
We delivered a modular production line capable of processing varying proportions of vegetable scraps, fruit peels, and leftover grains. The line includes a crusher, temperature-controlled fermentation tanks, and a pelletizer. To reduce labor, we integrated a robotic arm for material handling and an automatic weighing system for packaging.
Since launching in mid-2024, the startup has processed 10 tons of food waste daily and produced 4 tons of organic fertilizer. The product is sold to urban gardens and smallholder farmers, and has a loyal customer base due to its consistent quality. The company also partners with the Bangalore Municipal Corporation to collect waste, receiving a $50 subsidy for every ton processed.
